Demolition has begun at 10355 King George Blvd., where the City of Surrey plans a 10,000-seat City Centre Arena. The City says crews are dismantling the former Safeway building and that demolition and site-preparation work are underway as the first construction phase begins. The planned arena is to become the future home of the Vancouver Giants and is part of the City Centre Arena and Entertainment District, which the City says will also include hotel, conference and residential components.

Includes available municipal and project history, the latest 50 published Urbyn stories, and reviewed inventory comparisons. Associations require a linked local project or an explicit neighbourhood label. City-wide stories stay in the city feed. A record check, first inventory observation or planned completion date does not create a new milestone.

The City identifies City Hall, Civic Plaza, City Centre Library, SFU Surrey and KPU Civic Plaza as local anchors. These are useful places to explore the area beyond housing. Their presence does not establish school catchment eligibility, enrolment availability or service access for a particular address.
Surrey Central and King George stations are on the Expo Line. Use TransLink’s schedules and station maps for your journey and access needs. Future transit proposals and existing service should be evaluated separately; no forecast journey times are presented here.
Holland Park is a City Centre park identified by the City of Surrey. Use the official park page to plan a visit and check facilities. Outdoor access varies across this broad urban area, so compare the route from the home rather than treating a city-wide amenity as next door.
The City Centre Plan’s vision supports a downtown connected by rapid transit, walking and cycling, with housing, employment, cultural uses and public space. This is a planning direction. Individual applications can remain under review, carry conditions or change as they proceed.
Check school catchment, accessibility and service eligibility for the actual address with the responsible provider.
Summaries describe what these sources supported on their review dates. Planned facilities and schedules can change. Report a correction.
Locate tracked developments alongside established stations, parks and civic amenities. Stage labels use recorded evidence; selling a home does not establish that construction has started.
Map tiles load when you open the map. Project markers describe recorded stages, not guaranteed construction or homes for sale.
11 of 12 matching project records have reliable mapped points. The others remain in the guide’s development list. Only the nearby Green Timbers future station is shown; this is not a complete extension map. Station proximity is straight-line distance to the mapped station, not walking distance or a TOA designation. The municipal TOA layer is a dated planning reference, not a parcel entitlement or walking-distance map. Check the City’s current property information before relying on a designation.

FROM PLANNING TO COMPLETED HOMES
Projects are associated using precise recorded locations inside the official City Centre urban centre boundary, or an explicit matching neighbourhood label where precise coordinates are unavailable. Approximate and unreviewed coordinates are excluded. This is partial coverage; separate application and sales records can describe the same development.
